I’m not sure who I am, but I like the idea of learning how to make cheese that others will enjoy. Sometimes an idea is all you need, and everything else will be worked out over time.

In 2013 I turned 30. There isn’t anything ground-breaking about turning a year older, but it does help nudge you to take a look at your life and dream about new chapters. The new chapter I dream about includes farming, living closer with nature, rural wide open spaces, and making things with my hands – specifically cheese.

For now, I’m a Marketing Director at a mobile software company headquartered in Austin, TX. I live in Austin, TX with my lovely husband, Mike, and our two Pug mix dogs, Oates and Zoey. Someday I hope to live on 10+ acres somewhere green – Illinois or Oregon perhaps.

This blog will chronicle my journey from first batch to future farm owner and all the steps in between. My hope is with each post I’ll be one step closer to where I want to be.

  1. Love the idea of your blog. I made some cheddar cheese recently and the first batch was awful but the second worked out okay and I’m currently maturing it. It’s tricky stuff at first but very satisfying 🙂
